Who we are

chair – Jane Slowey

Jane is the Ambassadorial representative for Learning Trade Skills with all key stakeholders and funders. She provides leadership to the board and works closely with the Interim Chief Executive to make sure that we achieve our aims and objectives.

chief executive - Keith Mogford

Keith joined Skills-Third Sector in June 2011 with a wealth of experience both in the skills world and also the third sector. His previous role was Director of Stakeholder Engagement at National Open College Network (NOCN), a national awarding organisation with a long tradition of working in partnership with a wide range of third sector organisations in developing flexible qualifications. Prior to that Keith was CEO at OCN Eastern Region. He has worked with Skills – Third Sector and previously UK Workforce Hub in the development of qualifications, and in addition had involvement with Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) in relation to community development qualifications. He was for three years a member of the National Programme Board for Foundation Learning.  Email Keith

director of strategic partnerships – Graham Leigh

Graham leads on the development of key partnerships to deliver the national skills strategy specifically the development of the four identified networks. Graham was previously director of development at the Directory of Social Change. He is an experienced strategic manager of infrastructure bodies with a detailed knowledge of the needs of the sector, and a collaborative approach to identifying opportunities for product and service development. Email Graham

project manager - Eve Sadler

Eve responsible for developing new initiatives (including a national workforce development conference).  She is also responsible for over 20 key stakeholder relationships.  Earlier in this role, Eve led the strategic development of the new national qualifications and Advanced Apprenticeships in Campaigning, Fundraising and Volunteer Management (which have been endorsed by Skills Minister The Rt Hon John Hayes, the All Party Parliamentary Group on Civil Society and Volunteering, the Institute of Fundraising, the Association of Volunteer Managers and Volunteering England).  Eve has over 9 years experience of working across the not-for-profit, public and private sectors, both in the UK and overseas. She is an elected Fellow of the RSA, holds a Master of Research in Environment and Development, is a PRINCE 2 Practitioner, a Member of the Chartered Management Institute and a qualified coach. Email Eve.

project manager - Terry Wolf

Terry leads on National Occupational Standards’ developments, relationships with awarding organisations and other skills bodies, and quality/endorsement processes, including the Training Quality Standard. Terry has many years experience of work in and with voluntary and community groups as a volunteer, trustee, manager and consultant. She also has a strong interest in green issues and leads on this for Learning Trade Skills. Email Terry.

knowledge manager - James McHugh

James is responsible for monitoring and analysing policy trends in relation to skills, funding for skills and the potential impact on third sector organisations and their workforce. James will also be working to develop Learning Trade Skills’s policy agenda through briefings, submissions, and reports. James has an MA degree in sociology and work experience at a political think tank, a race equality council, and charity fundraising. Email James.

Clare is the first point of contact for Skills – Third Sector responsible for all administration including financial management. She provides PA support to Jane Slowey and is the link between the organisation and the board. Email Clare.
