Advanced Apprenticeship in Volunteer Management
How much more effective would you be at delivering better services if you had someone with up to date skills in getting the best from your volunteers?
When resources are tight, charities and other voluntary organisations need to make sure that they are getting the very best from their volunteers and that good volunteers want to stay. The best investment you can make in your volunteers is to have someone with practical skills in managing volunteers in the team.
The Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Volunteer Management has been developed by Learning Trade Skills, the organisation working to make sure that charities and social enterprises have the right people with the right skills, in collaboration with sector professionals. It is endorsed by the Association of Volunteer Managers – the professional body for volunteer managers.
This Advanced Level Apprenticeship (the equivalent to 3 A-levels) will develop the skills, knowledge and understanding in key areas that volunteer managers need to be good at including:
- supervising and supporting volunteers;
- promoting volunteering opportunities;
- motivating volunteers;
- managing risks associated with volunteering;
- and developing structures, systems and procedures to support volunteering.
